It is reported that the train will leave Kuitun City in the Ili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture of Xinjiang Province and go through Alashankou port to Almaty City of Kazakhstan, covering a distance of about 1,100 kilometers. It is expected to arrive in seven days. The train consists of 50 40-foot standard containers carrying 1,300 tons of aluminum HVAC products, valued at 22.5 million yuan.
Zhang Juan, general manager of Xinjiang Zhisheng Aluminum Co., LTD., said, "The opening of the China-Europe Railway Express (Kuitun-Almaty) will provide us with a convenient logistics channel to explore the Central Asian and Eastern European markets, and will also greatly help our development and construction of countries along the Belt and Road."
This train is the first special train assembly of local products in Kuitun under the professional guidance and strong support of China Railway Urumqi Bureau Group Co., LTD., Kuitun Freight Center and Shihezi Customs. The opening of the train is an important measure for Kuitun City to implement the national and autonomous region's requirements on the construction and deployment of the core area of "One Belt and One Road", establish new development concepts, take the initiative to seize new opportunities for the development of export-oriented economy, and accelerate the integration into the new development pattern of domestic and international double cycle, which marks the further acceleration of the pace of the construction of international logistics channel in Kuitun City. It is conducive to the gathering of regional processing trade enterprises in Kuitun, the coordinated development of regional economy and the integrated development of military and local areas, which will inject new impetus into the local open development and add new momentum into the new development pattern.
The launch of the China-Europe Express has provided us with a strong guarantee in promoting the development of foreign trade and stabilizing the supply chain. We must seize the opportunity. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative and the ninth year since the launch of the Kuytun China-Europe Railway Express. Since the Kuitun Bonded Logistics Center was officially closed and put into operation in 2014, the operation of Kuitun westbound international freight trains has been continuously upgraded. More than 200 China-Europe freight trains have been launched from Kuitun to Russia, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and other routes, with a total shipment of over 1 million tons. It's worth nearly 800 million dollars. The launch of the "Kuitun" China-Europe Railway Express has opened an important trade route for Kuitun City, the Golden Triangle and the "Made in Xinjiang" in Northern Xinjiang to the world, as well as a major artery for the Belt and Road Initiative.
